I know, it sounds like a gimmick, but it's not, I'm actually doing this right now with my own business, Lone Birch.

At Lone Birch, we make high quality handmade products, like this walnut laptop stand. As Lone Birch started to grow, I needed help with production so I could keep up with demand. When I looked at how I was going to do it, I didn't like my options.

I either had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on inventory costs, or hundreds of thousands of dollars on leasing a local commercial space for a minimum of five years. When I heard the property owner say he wanted a five year commitment, I was honestly floored. Not to mention I'd still have to hire employees, buy additional equipment, and more. And regardless of what I chose, I still had the issue of high shipping costs. Since I’m here in New Hampshire, shipping my products out west cost me a lot of money. I was either breaking even or losing money on those orders, and I didn't want to put that on my customers, I still wanted to offer free shipping to the west coast.

So needless to say, both were going to require a big financial investment and carried a lot of risk. And neither solved all my problems. I'm here to teach you about what I did instead, how Distro was born, and how it's the most cost effective way for you to scale production of your business.
